Why theJobBrowser exists

Looking for a job should not mean paying for access, scrolling roles that were filled months ago, or fighting filters that do not match the results. theJobBrowser exists because that loop is still the default on most boards.

What we kept running into

The usual path looks efficient until you try to use it. A title and a company name are not enough to decide whether to apply. Salary, stack, remote policy, language, and visa sponsorship are often missing, buried, or ignored by the search itself.

  • Paywalls in front of job postings
  • Roles that stay online long after they were filled
  • Filters that return jobs you already ruled out
  • Thin listings that force you to open ten tabs before you can decide

What we built instead

theJobBrowser is a free job board for software, product, and design roles. Listings come from public career pages. When a posting leaves a company board, we take it off the public site. Filters are tied to the listing: technologies you want and do not, salary, city, remote policy, language, perks, and visa sponsorship.

The goal is a short path from “I am looking” to a role that is still open, with enough structure to compare jobs instead of hunting across twenty sites.

What this blog is for

This is the first post. We will use the blog for product notes, how we source and keep listings current, and the hiring details that usually get lost between a career page and an application form.

If something is missing or wrong on the board, tell us. The shortest useful loop is still the one that gets you to an apply link that works.
